Ingredients

For the tuna burgers:

  • 2 (5 oz) cans tuna in water, drained.

  • 1 large egg.

  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred).

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion.

  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise.

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard.

  • Salt and pepper, to taste.

  • 4 burger buns (brioche or sesame seed).

For the creamy spicy D’Bocas tartar sauce:

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise.

  • 1 tablespoon chopped pickles or sweet relish.

  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice.

  • 1 tablespoon D’Bocas Hot Sauce (adjust to your desired spice level).

Instructions

  • Make the tuna patties:

In a medium bowl, combine tuna, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly. Shape into 4 even patties.

  • Cook the patties:

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.

 

  • Prepare the tartar sauce:

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, chopped pickles, lemon juice, and D’Bocas Hot Sauce. Adjust seasoning and spice to taste.

 

  • Assemble the burgers:

Lightly toast burger buns. Spread the spicy tartar sauce on the bottom bun, add the tuna patty, then lettuce and tomato slices, and finish with the top bun.
